Less scientific in approach than other birdsong guides, but none the less informative, this book presents bird song in an easily understandable and approachable manner. If you sometimes find yourself marveling at the beauty and musicality of wild bird songs, you will enjoy this book.

The included CD includes beautiful, clear, examples of singing birds. The author provides a short introduction to each, with a few comments about characteristics of the song. The book is chock full of photos of birds with their beaks open. These singing bird photos are a lovely accompaniment to this written and audio celebration of bird song.
